What KittoCleaner does on your device

Scanning and cleaning happen entirely on your Mac or iPhone. The list of files, their names and their contents are never uploaded. KittoCleaner does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics.

Accounts are optional

You never need an account to buy, activate or use KittoCleaner. If you choose to create one, we store your email address and a hashed password with our authentication provider, Supabase, so your cleanup history can follow you across devices.

You can delete your account in the app at any time from Settings. Deleting it removes your profile, your signed-in devices and your cleanup history. Licenses are not deleted, because they belong to the license key rather than the account; they are simply unlinked from it and keep working.

Licenses

Every paid plan is a license key. We never store your key in readable form: we keep a one-way hash of it, plus its last five characters so you and our support team can tell keys apart. We also store the plan, the number of seats, the status, the expiry date and, if you gave one, the email address used at checkout.

Activations

When you activate a license on a device, we store a hashed machine identifier, the device name as reported by the system, the platform, the app version, the activation date and the last time the app checked in. On Mac the identifier is a SHA-256 hash of the hardware UUID; on iPhone it is a hash of an identifier the app keeps in your Keychain. We never receive the original values. This information is used only to enforce the number of seats and to let you deactivate devices from the license page.

The license page on our website keeps a random identifier in your browser's local storage so it can send deactivation requests. Your license key is not stored in the browser.

Website purchases and Paddle

Purchases on kittocleaner.com are sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd (Paddle), our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Your payment details go directly to Paddle and are never seen or stored by us. Paddle shares with us the email address you entered, your country, the plan, the amount and currency, the payment status and the Paddle customer, transaction and subscription identifiers, so we can issue your license, renew it and handle refunds. Paddle's own use of your data is described in its privacy policy at paddle.com/legal/privacy.

App Store purchases

When you buy a plan through the App Store, Apple sends us the transaction identifier, product, purchase date, expiry date and environment so we can issue a license for it. We never see your payment details.

Country detection for pricing

To show prices in your local currency, our website determines your country from the country you pick, from the country code our hosting provider attaches to each request based on your IP address, or from your browser's language setting. Your IP address is not stored for this. The country you pick is remembered in your browser, and the country of a completed purchase is stored with it so the correct price and taxes apply.

Cleanup history

Each cleanup records the date, the categories cleared, how many items were removed and how much space came back. File names are not included. This history is shown to you in the app and used, in aggregate, to understand how much space KittoCleaner saves.

Logs

The app writes diagnostic logs to the unified logging system on your device. They stay on the device unless you choose to send them to support.

Your rights

You can export or delete your data by emailing support@kittocleaner.com. We answer within 30 days.

Children

KittoCleaner is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
